Inspired by the concept of Internet Clubs, as explained by an American Kiwanis International representative to Kiwanians attending the Australia District Convention, Beni Avallone decided to take up the challenge to build the first Internet Club in Australia.

Strong resistance from mainstream Kiwanians who believed that an Internet Club would 'take' members from traditional clubs was experienced.  The Board of Trustees was experiencing difficulties maintaining sufficient numbers to retain Australia's 'District' status.  This lack of support from District Boards of Trustees remains the most common reaction world wide, to the suggestion of the establishment of an Internet Club.

Beni began the task of recruiting former and current Kiwanis members who were interested in the concept of an Internet Club to form the core of the club and to recruit potential members new to Kiwanis.  Eventually, Charter strength was achieved but Beni was unable to find an existing Club within her traditional Kiwanis Club Division, or the District, to sponsor the Internet Club.

Showing remarkable determination, Beni found the necessary funds herself to Charter the Internet Club.  The Club Charter was presented to Charter President Bob Kirby at the 2007 Australia District Convention held at Shepparton, Victoria, by Paul Palazzolo, Counsellor from Kiwanis International for the Asia Pacific Region, and International Vice-President.  A number of Charter Members were present to receive their Charter Member pins and to enjoy the historic occasion.
